KEL 22

1.   "If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and slaughters it or sells it, he shall restore five oxen for an ox and four sheep for a sheep. 2.   "If the thief is found breaking in, and he is struck so that he dies, there shall be no guilt for his bloodshed. 3.   "If the sun has risen on him, there shall be guilt for his bloodshed. He should make full restitution; if he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. 4.   "If the theft is certainly found alive in his hand, whether it is an ox or donkey or sheep, he shall restore double. 5.   "If a man causes a field or vineyard to be grazed, and lets loose his animal, and it feeds in another man’s field, he shall make restitution from the best of his own field and the best of his own vineyard. 6.   "If fire breaks out and catches in thorns, so that stacked grain, standing grain, or the field is consumed, he who kindled the fire shall surely make restitution. 7.   "If a man delivers to his neighbor money or articles to keep, and it is stolen out of the man’s house, if the thief is found, he shall pay double. 8.   "If the thief is not found, then the master of the house shall be brought to the judges to see whether he has put his hand into his neighbor’s goods. 9.   "For any kind of trespass, whether it concerns an ox, a donkey, a sheep, or clothing, or for any kind of lost thing which another claims to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whomever the judges condemn shall pay double to his neighbor. 10.   "If a man delivers to his neighbor a donkey, an ox, a sheep, or any animal to keep, and it dies, is hurt, or driven away, no one seeing it , 11.   " then an oath of the LORD shall be between them both, that he has not put his hand into his neighbor’s goods; and the owner of it shall accept that , and he shall not make it good. 12.   "But if, in fact, it is stolen from him, he shall make restitution to the owner of it. 13.   "If it is torn to pieces by a beast, then he shall bring it as evidence, and he shall not make good what was torn. 14.   "And if a man borrows anything from his neighbor, and it becomes injured or dies, the owner of it not being with it, he shall surely make it good. 15.   "If its owner was with it, he shall not make it good; if it was hired, it came for its hire. 16.   "If a man entices a virgin who is not betrothed, and lies with her, he shall surely pay the bride–price for her to be his wife. 17.   "If her father utterly refuses to give her to him, he shall pay money according to the bride–price of virgins. 18.   "You shall not permit a sorceress to live. 19.   "Whoever lies with an animal shall surely be put to death. 20.   "He who sacrifices to any god, except to the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed. 21.   "You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. 22.   "You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. 23.   "If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry; 24.   "and My wrath will become hot, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless. 25.   "If you lend money to any of My people who are poor among you, you shall not be like a moneylender to him; you shall not charge him interest. 26.   "If you ever take your neighbor’s garment as a pledge, you shall return it to him before the sun goes down. 27.   "For that is his only covering, it is his garment for his skin. What will he sleep in? And it will be that when he cries to Me, I will hear, for I am gracious. 28.   "You shall not revile God, nor curse a ruler of your people. 29.   "You shall not delay to offer the first of your ripe produce and your juices. The firstborn of your sons you shall give to Me. 30.   "Likewise you shall do with your oxen and your sheep. It shall be with its mother seven days; on the eighth day you shall give it to Me. 31.   "And you shall be holy men to Me: you shall not eat meat torn by beasts in the field; you shall throw it to the dogs.

MZM 20

1.   <> May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend you; 2.   May He send you help from the sanctuary, And strengthen you out of Zion; 3.   May He remember all your offerings, And accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah 4.   May He grant you according to your heart’s desire , And fulfill all your purpose. 5.   We will rejoice in your salvation, And in the name of our God we will set up our banners! May the LORD fulfill all your petitions. 6.   Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven With the saving strength of His right hand. 7.   Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the LORD our God. 8.   They have bowed down and fallen; But we have risen and stand upright. 9.   Save, LORD! May the King answer us when we call.

MZM 21

1.   <> The king shall have joy in Your strength, O LORD; And in Your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! 2.   You have given him his heart’s desire, And have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah 3.   For You meet him with the blessings of goodness; You set a crown of pure gold upon his head. 4.   He asked life from You, and You gave it to him––Length of days forever and ever. 5.   His glory is great in Your salvation; Honor and majesty You have placed upon him. 6.   For You have made him most blessed forever; You have made him exceedingly glad with Your presence. 7.   For the king trusts in the LORD, And through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be moved. 8.   Your hand will find all Your enemies; Your right hand will find those who hate You. 9.   You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of Your anger; The LORD shall swallow them up in His wrath, And the fire shall devour them. 10.   Their offspring You shall destroy from the earth, And their descendants from among the sons of men. 11.   For they intended evil against You; They devised a plot which they are not able to perform . 12.   Therefore You will make them turn their back; You will make ready Your arrows on Your string toward their faces. 13.   Be exalted, O LORD, in Your own strength! We will sing and praise Your power.

KIS 8 1-25

1.   Now Saul was consenting to his death. At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. 2.   And devout men carried Stephen to his burial , and made great lamentation over him. 3.   As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison. 4.   Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. 5.   Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. 6.   And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 7.   For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. 8.   And there was great joy in that city. 9.   But there was a certain man called Simon, who previously practiced sorcery in the city and astonished the people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great, 10.   to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, "This man is the great power of God." 11.   And they heeded him because he had astonished them with his sorceries for a long time. 12.   But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. 13.   Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done. 14.   Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, 15.   who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. 16.   For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 17.   Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. 18.   And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, 19.   saying, "Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit." 20.   But Peter said to him, "Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money! 21.   "You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God. 22.   "Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. 23.   "For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity." 24.   Then Simon answered and said, "Pray to the Lord for me, that none of the things which you have spoken may come upon me." 25.   So when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.
