IM 17

1.   And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2.   "Speak to Aaron, to his sons, and to all the children of Israel, and say to them, ‘This is the thing which the LORD has commanded, saying: 3.   "Whatever man of the house of Israel who kills an ox or lamb or goat in the camp, or who kills it outside the camp, 4.   "and does not bring it to the door of the tabernacle of meeting to offer an offering to the LORD before the tabernacle of the LORD, the guilt of bloodshed shall be imputed to that man. He has shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people, 5.   "to the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices which they offer in the open field, that they may bring them to the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of meeting, to the priest, and offer them as peace offerings to the LORD. 6.   "And the priest shall sprinkle the blood on the altar of the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of meeting, and burn the fat for a sweet aroma to the LORD. 7.   "They shall no more offer their sacrifices to demons, after whom they have played the harlot. This shall be a statute forever for them throughout their generations."’ 8.   "Also you shall say to them: ‘Whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who offers a burnt offering or sacrifice, 9.   ‘and does not bring it to the door of the tabernacle of meeting, to offer it to the LORD, that man shall be cut off from among his people. 10.   ‘And whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who eats any blood, I will set My face against that person who eats blood, and will cut him off from among his people. 11.   ‘For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’ 12.   "Therefore I said to the children of Israel, ‘No one among you shall eat blood, nor shall any stranger who dwells among you eat blood.’ 13.   "Whatever man of the children of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who hunts and catches any animal or bird that may be eaten, he shall pour out its blood and cover it with dust; 14.   "for it is the life of all flesh. Its blood sustains its life. Therefore I said to the children of Israel, ‘You shall not eat the blood of any flesh, for the life of all flesh is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.’ 15.   "And every person who eats what died naturally or what was torn by beasts, whether he is a native of your own country or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until evening. Then he shall be clean. 16.   "But if he does not wash them or bathe his body, then he shall bear his guilt."

1.   <> Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God! 0.   2For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head. 3.   They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones. 4.   They have said, "Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more." 5.   For they have consulted together with one consent; They form a confederacy against You: 6.   The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagrites; 7.   Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; 8.   Assyria also has joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot. Selah 9.   Deal with them as with Midian, As with Sisera, As with Jabin at the Brook Kishon, 10.   Who perished at En Dor, Who became as refuse on the earth. 11.   Make their nobles like Oreb and like Zeeb, Yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, 12.   Who said, "Let us take for ourselves The pastures of God for a possession." 13.   O my God, make them like the whirling dust, Like the chaff before the wind! 14.   As the fire burns the woods, And as the flame sets the mountains on fire, 15.   So pursue them with Your tempest, And frighten them with Your storm. 16.   Fill their faces with shame, That they may seek Your name, O LORD. 17.   Let them be confounded and dismayed forever; Yes, let them be put to shame and perish, 18.   That they may know that You, whose name alone is the LORD, Are the Most High over all the earth.

1.   <> How lovely is Your tabernacle, O LORD of hosts! 2.   My soul longs, yes, even faints For the courts of the LORD; My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. 3.   Even the sparrow has found a home, And the swallow a nest for herself, Where she may lay her young–– Even Your altars, O LORD of hosts, My King and my God. 4.   Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; They will still be praising You. Selah 5.   Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Whose heart is set on pilgrimage. 6.   As they pass through the Valley of Baca, They make it a spring; The rain also covers it with pools. 7.   They go from strength to strength; Each one appears before God in Zion. 8.   O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer; Give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah 9.   O God, behold our shield, And look upon the face of Your anointed. 10.   For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness. 11.   For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly. 12.   O LORD of hosts, Blessed is the man who trusts in You!

1.   Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God 2.   which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, 3.   concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, 4.   and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. 5.   Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name, 6.   among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ; 7.   To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 8.   First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. 9.   For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of His Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers, 10.   making request if, by some means, now at last I may find a way in the will of God to come to you. 11.   For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established–– 12.   that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. 13.   Now I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that I often planned to come to you (but was hindered until now), that I might have some fruit among you also, just as among the other Gentiles. 14.   I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to unwise. 15.   So, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also. 16.   For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17.   For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith." 18.   For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19.   because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20.   For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21.   because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22.   Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23.   and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man––and birds and four–footed animals and creeping things. 24.   Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25.   who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26.   For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27.   Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. 28.   And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29.   being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil–mindedness; they are whisperers, 30.   backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31.   undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32.   who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
