King James Version

1SAM 7
YER 5
2TIM 4

1SAM 7

1.   Then the men of Kirjath Jearim came and took the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab on the hill, and consecrated Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD. 2.   So it was that the ark remained in Kirjath Jearim a long time; it was there twenty years. And all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD. 3.   Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, "If you return to the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths from among you, and prepare your hearts for the LORD, and serve Him only; and He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines." 4.   So the children of Israel put away the Baals and the Ashtoreths, and served the LORD only. 5.   And Samuel said, "Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray to the LORD for you." 6.   So they gathered together at Mizpah, drew water, and poured it out before the LORD. And they fasted that day, and said there, "We have sinned against the LORD." And Samuel judged the children of Israel at Mizpah. 7.   Now when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel had gathered together at Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard of it , they were afraid of the Philistines. 8.   So the children of Israel said to Samuel, "Do not cease to cry out to the LORD our God for us, that He may save us from the hand of the Philistines." 9.   And Samuel took a suckling lamb and offered it as a whole burnt offering to the LORD. Then Samuel cried out to the LORD for Israel, and the LORD answered him. 10.   Now as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel. But the LORD thundered with a loud thunder upon the Philistines that day, and so confused them that they were overcome before Israel. 11.   And the men of Israel went out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, and drove them back as far as below Beth Car. 12.   Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, "Thus far the LORD has helped us." 13.   So the Philistines were subdued, and they did not come anymore into the territory of Israel. And the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel. 14.   Then the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron to Gath; and Israel recovered its territory from the hands of the Philistines. Also there was peace between Israel and the Amorites. 15.   And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life. 16.   He went from year to year on a circuit to Bethel, Gilgal, and Mizpah, and judged Israel in all those places. 17.   But he always returned to Ramah, for his home was there. There he judged Israel, and there he built an altar to the LORD.

YER 5

1.   "Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem; See now and know; And seek in her open places If you can find a man, If there is anyone who executes judgment, Who seeks the truth, And I will pardon her. 2.   Though they say, ‘ As the LORD lives,’ Surely they swear falsely." 3.   O LORD, are not Your eyes on the truth? You have stricken them, But they have not grieved; You have consumed them, But they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than rock; They have refused to return. 4.   Therefore I said, "Surely these are poor. They are foolish; For they do not know the way of the LORD, The judgment of their God. 5.   I will go to the great men and speak to them, For they have known the way of the LORD, The judgment of their God." But these have altogether broken the yoke And burst the bonds. 6.   Therefore a lion from the forest shall slay them, A wolf of the deserts shall destroy them; A leopard will watch over their cities. Everyone who goes out from there shall be torn in pieces, Because their transgressions are many; Their backslidings have increased. 7.   "How shall I pardon you for this? Your children have forsaken Me And sworn by those that are not gods. When I had fed them to the full, Then they committed adultery And assembled themselves by troops in the harlots’ houses. 8.   They were like well–fed lusty stallions; Every one neighed after his neighbor’s wife. 9.   Shall I not punish them for these things ?" says the LORD. "And shall I not avenge Myself on such a nation as this? 10.   "Go up on her walls and destroy, But do not make a complete end. Take away her branches, For they are not the LORD’S. 11.   For the house of Israel and the house of Judah Have dealt very treacherously with Me," says the LORD. 12.   They have lied about the LORD, And said, " It is not He. Neither will evil come upon us, Nor shall we see sword or famine. 13.   And the prophets become wind, For the word is not in them. Thus shall it be done to them." 14.   Therefore thus says the LORD God of hosts: "Because you speak this word, Behold, I will make My words in your mouth fire, And this people wood, And it shall devour them. 15.   Behold, I will bring a nation against you from afar, O house of Israel," says the LORD. "It is a mighty nation, It is an ancient nation, A nation whose language you do not know, Nor can you understand what they say. 16.   Their quiver is like an open tomb; They are all mighty men. 17.   And they shall eat up your harvest and your bread, Which your sons and daughters should eat. They shall eat up your flocks and your herds; They shall eat up your vines and your fig trees; They shall destroy your fortified cities, In which you trust, with the sword. 18.   "Nevertheless in those days," says the LORD, "I will not make a complete end of you. 19.   "And it will be when you say, ‘Why does the LORD our God do all these things to us?’ then you shall answer them, ‘Just as you have forsaken Me and served foreign gods in your land, so you shall serve aliens in a land that is not yours.’ 20.   "Declare this in the house of Jacob And proclaim it in Judah, saying, 21.   ‘Hear this now, O foolish people, Without understanding, Who have eyes and see not, And who have ears and hear not: 22.   Do you not fear Me?’ says the LORD. ‘Will you not tremble at My presence, Who have placed the sand as the bound of the sea, By a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass beyond it? And though its waves toss to and fro, Yet they cannot prevail; Though they roar, yet they cannot pass over it. 23.   But this people has a defiant and rebellious heart; They have revolted and departed. 24.   They do not say in their heart, "Let us now fear the LORD our God, Who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season. He reserves for us the appointed weeks of the harvest." 25.   Your iniquities have turned these things away, And your sins have withheld good from you. 26.   ‘For among My people are found wicked men ; They lie in wait as one who sets snares; They set a trap; They catch men. 27.   As a cage is full of birds, So their houses are full of deceit. Therefore they have become great and grown rich. 28.   They have grown fat, they are sleek; Yes, they surpass the deeds of the wicked; They do not plead the cause, The cause of the fatherless; Yet they prosper, And the right of the needy they do not defend. 29.   Shall I not punish them for these things ?’ says the LORD. ‘Shall I not avenge Myself on such a nation as this?’ 30.   "An astonishing and horrible thing Has been committed in the land: 31.   The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule by their own power; And My people love to have it so. But what will you do in the end?

2TIM 4

1.   I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: 2.   Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3.   For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4.   and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5.   But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. 6.   For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7.   I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8.   Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. 9.   Be diligent to come to me quickly; 10.   for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica––Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia. 11.   Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for ministry. 12.   And Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus. 13.   Bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas when you come––and the books, especially the parchments. 14.   Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm. May the Lord repay him according to his works. 15.   You also must beware of him, for he has greatly resisted our words. 16.   At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them. 17.   But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. 18.   And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen! 19.   Greet Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus. 20.   Erastus stayed in Corinth, but Trophimus I have left in Miletus sick. 21.   Do your utmost to come before winter. Eubulus greets you, as well as Pudens, Linus, Claudia, and all the brethren. 22.   The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.
