King James Version

1TAW 17
HOS 10
YOH 17

1TAW 17

1.   Now it came to pass, when David was dwelling in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, "See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD is under tent curtains." 2.   Then Nathan said to David, "Do all that is in your heart, for God is with you." 3.   But it happened that night that the word of God came to Nathan, saying, 4.   "Go and tell My servant David, ‘Thus says the LORD: "You shall not build Me a house to dwell in. 5.   "For I have not dwelt in a house since the time that I brought up Israel, even to this day, but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another . 6.   "Wherever I have moved about with all Israel, have I ever spoken a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people, saying, ‘Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?’"’ 7.   "Now therefore, thus shall you say to My servant David, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts: "I took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep, to be ruler over My people Israel. 8.   "And I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and have made you a name like the name of the great men who are on the earth. 9.   "Moreover I will appoint a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own and move no more; nor shall the sons of wickedness oppress them anymore, as previously, 10.   "since the time that I commanded judges to be over My people Israel. Also I will subdue all your enemies. Furthermore I tell you that the LORD will build you a house. 11.   "And it shall be, when your days are fulfilled, when you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up your seed after you, who will be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom. 12.   "He shall build Me a house, and I will establish his throne forever. 13.   "I will be his Father, and he shall be My son; and I will not take My mercy away from him, as I took it from him who was before you. 14.   "And I will establish him in My house and in My kingdom forever; and his throne shall be established forever."’" 15.   According to all these words and according to all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David. 16.   Then King David went in and sat before the LORD; and he said: "Who am I, O LORD God? And what is my house, that You have brought me this far? 17.   "And yet this was a small thing in Your sight, O God; and You have also spoken of Your servant’s house for a great while to come, and have regarded me according to the rank of a man of high degree, O LORD God. 18.   "What more can David say to You for the honor of Your servant? For You know Your servant. 19.   "O LORD, for Your servant’s sake, and according to Your own heart, You have done all this greatness, in making known all these great things. 20.   "O LORD, there is none like You, nor is there any God besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears. 21.   "And who is like Your people Israel, the one nation on the earth whom God went to redeem for Himself as a people––to make for Yourself a name by great and awesome deeds, by driving out nations from before Your people whom You redeemed from Egypt? 22.   "For You have made Your people Israel Your very own people forever; and You, LORD, have become their God. 23.   "And now, O LORD, the word which You have spoken concerning Your servant and concerning his house, let it be established forever, and do as You have said. 24.   "So let it be established, that Your name may be magnified forever, saying, ‘The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, is Israel’s God.’ And let the house of Your servant David be established before You. 25.   "For You, O my God, have revealed to Your servant that You will build him a house. Therefore Your servant has found it in his heart to pray before You. 26.   "And now, LORD, You are God, and have promised this goodness to Your servant. 27.   "Now You have been pleased to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue before You forever; for You have blessed it, O LORD, and it shall be blessed forever."

HOS 10

1.   Israel empties his vine; He brings forth fruit for himself. According to the multitude of his fruit He has increased the altars; According to the bounty of his land They have embellished his sacred pillars. 2.   Their heart is divided; Now they are held guilty. He will break down their altars; He will ruin their sacred pillars. 3.   For now they say, "We have no king, Because we did not fear the LORD. And as for a king, what would he do for us?" 4.   They have spoken words, Swearing falsely in making a covenant. Thus judgment springs up like hemlock in the furrows of the field. 5.   The inhabitants of Samaria fear Because of the calf of Beth Aven. For its people mourn for it, And its priests shriek for it––Because its glory has departed from it. 6.   The idol also shall be carried to Assyria As a present for King Jareb. Ephraim shall receive shame, And Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel. 7.   As for Samaria, her king is cut off Like a twig on the water. 8.   Also the high places of Aven, the sin of Israel, Shall be destroyed. The thorn and thistle shall grow on their altars; They shall say to the mountains, "Cover us!" And to the hills, "Fall on us!" 9.   "O Israel, you have sinned from the days of Gibeah; There they stood. The battle in Gibeah against the children of iniquity Did not overtake them. 10.   When it is My desire, I will chasten them. Peoples shall be gathered against them When I bind them for their two transgressions. 11.   Ephraim is a trained heifer That loves to thresh grain ; But I harnessed her fair neck, I will make Ephraim pull a plow . Judah shall plow; Jacob shall break his clods." 12.   Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you. 13.   You have plowed wickedness; You have reaped iniquity. You have eaten the fruit of lies, Because you trusted in your own way, In the multitude of your mighty men. 14.   Therefore tumult shall arise among your people, And all your fortresses shall be plundered As Shalman plundered Beth Arbel in the day of battle––A mother dashed in pieces upon her children. 15.   Thus it shall be done to you, O Bethel, Because of your great wickedness. At dawn the king of Israel Shall be cut off utterly.

YOH 17

1.   Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, 2.   "as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. 3.   "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. 4.   "I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. 5.   "And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. 6.   "I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. 7.   "Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. 8.   "For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them , and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me. 9.   "I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. 10.   "And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. 11.   "Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are . 12.   "While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13.   "But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. 14.   "I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15.   "I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. 16.   "They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17.   "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. 18.   "As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. 19.   "And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth. 20.   "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21.   "that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22.   "And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23.   "I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. 24.   "Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. 25.   "O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. 26.   "And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it , that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them."
