IM 25 35-55

35.   ‘If one of your brethren becomes poor, and falls into poverty among you, then you shall help him, like a stranger or a sojourner, that he may live with you. 36.   ‘Take no usury or interest from him; but fear your God, that your brother may live with you. 37.   ‘You shall not lend him your money for usury, nor lend him your food at a profit. 38.   ‘I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan and to be your God. 39.   ‘And if one of your brethren who dwells by you becomes poor, and sells himself to you, you shall not compel him to serve as a slave. 40.   ‘As a hired servant and a sojourner he shall be with you, and shall serve you until the Year of Jubilee. 41.   ‘And then he shall depart from you––he and his children with him––and shall return to his own family. He shall return to the possession of his fathers. 42.   ‘For they are My servants, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt; they shall not be sold as slaves. 43.   ‘You shall not rule over him with rigor, but you shall fear your God. 44.   ‘And as for your male and female slaves whom you may have––from the nations that are around you, from them you may buy male and female slaves. 45.   ‘Moreover you may buy the children of the strangers who dwell among you, and their families who are with you, which they beget in your land; and they shall become your property. 46.   ‘And you may take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them as a possession; they shall be your permanent slaves. But regarding your brethren, the children of Israel, you shall not rule over one another with rigor. 47.   ‘Now if a sojourner or stranger close to you becomes rich, and one of your brethren who dwells by him becomes poor, and sells himself to the stranger or sojourner close to you, or to a member of the stranger’s family, 48.   ‘after he is sold he may be redeemed again. One of his brothers may redeem him; 49.   ‘or his uncle or his uncle’s son may redeem him; or anyone who is near of kin to him in his family may redeem him; or if he is able he may redeem himself. 50.   ‘Thus he shall reckon with him who bought him: The price of his release shall be according to the number of years, from the year that he was sold to him until the Year of Jubilee; it shall be according to the time of a hired servant for him. 51.   ‘If there are still many years remaining , according to them he shall repay the price of his redemption from the money with which he was bought. 52.   ‘And if there remain but a few years until the Year of Jubilee, then he shall reckon with him, and according to his years he shall repay him the price of his redemption. 53.   ‘He shall be with him as a yearly hired servant, and he shall not rule with rigor over him in your sight. 54.   ‘And if he is not redeemed in these years , then he shall be released in the Year of Jubilee––he and his children with him. 55.   ‘For the children of Israel are servants to Me; they are My servants whom I brought out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

IM 26 1-13

1.   ‘You shall not make idols for yourselves; neither a carved image nor a sacred pillar shall you rear up for yourselves; nor shall you set up an engraved stone in your land, to bow down to it; for I am the LORD your God. 2.   You shall keep My Sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary: I am the LORD. 3.   ‘If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them, 4.   then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. 5.   Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. 6.   I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land. 7.   You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you. 8.   Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you. 9.   ‘For I will look on you favorably and make you fruitful, multiply you and confirm My covenant with you. 10.   You shall eat the old harvest, and clear out the old because of the new. 11.   I will set My tabernacle among you, and My soul shall not abhor you. 12.   I will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people. 13.   I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves; I have broken the bands of your yoke and made you walk upright.

MZM 103

1.   << A Psalm of David.>> Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! 2.   Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: 3.   Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, 4.   Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, 5.   Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. 6.   The LORD executes righteousness And justice for all who are oppressed. 7.   He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel. 8.   The LORD is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. 9.   He will not always strive with us , Nor will He keep His anger forever. 10.   He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities. 11.   For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; 12.   As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. 13.   As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him. 14.   For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. 15.   As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. 16.   For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, And its place remembers it no more. 17.   But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting On those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children, 18.   To such as keep His covenant, And to those who remember His commandments to do them. 19.   The LORD has established His throne in heaven, And His kingdom rules over all. 20.   Bless the LORD, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word. 21.   Bless the LORD, all you His hosts, You ministers of His, who do His pleasure. 22.   Bless the LORD, all His works, In all places of His dominion. Bless the LORD, O my soul!

RM 9 1-15

1.   I tell the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit, 2.   that I have great sorrow and continual grief in my heart. 3.   For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my countrymen according to the flesh, 4.   who are Israelites, to whom pertain the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service of God , and the promises; 5.   of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came , who is over all, the eternally blessed God. Amen. 6.   But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, 7.   nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, "In Isaac your seed shall be called." 8.   That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed. 9.   For this is the word of promise: "At this time I will come and Sarah shall have a son." 10.   And not only this , but when Rebecca also had conceived by one man, even by our father Isaac 11.   (for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls), 12.   it was said to her, "The older shall serve the younger." 13.   As it is written, "Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated." 14.   What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? Certainly not! 15.   For He says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion."
