IM 27

1.   Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2.   "Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When a man consecrates by a vow certain persons to the LORD, according to your valuation, 3.   ‘if your valuation is of a male from twenty years old up to sixty years old, then your valuation shall be fifty shekels of silver, according to the shekel of the sanctuary. 4.   ‘If it is a female, then your valuation shall be thirty shekels; 5.   ‘and if from five years old up to twenty years old, then your valuation for a male shall be twenty shekels, and for a female ten shekels; 6.   ‘and if from a month old up to five years old, then your valuation for a male shall be five shekels of silver, and for a female your valuation shall be three shekels of silver; 7.   ‘and if from sixty years old and above, if it is a male, then your valuation shall be fifteen shekels, and for a female ten shekels. 8.   ‘But if he is too poor to pay your valuation, then he shall present himself before the priest, and the priest shall set a value for him; according to the ability of him who vowed, the priest shall value him. 9.   ‘If it is an animal that men may bring as an offering to the LORD, all that anyone gives to the LORD shall be holy. 10.   ‘He shall not substitute it or exchange it, good for bad or bad for good; and if he at all exchanges animal for animal, then both it and the one exchanged for it shall be holy. 11.   ‘If it is an unclean animal which they do not offer as a sacrifice to the LORD, then he shall present the animal before the priest; 12.   ‘and the priest shall set a value for it, whether it is good or bad; as you, the priest, value it, so it shall be. 13.   ‘But if he wants at all to redeem it, then he must add one–fifth to your valuation. 14.   ‘And when a man dedicates his house to be holy to the LORD, then the priest shall set a value for it, whether it is good or bad; as the priest values it, so it shall stand. 15.   ‘If he who dedicated it wants to redeem his house, then he must add one–fifth of the money of your valuation to it, and it shall be his. 16.   ‘If a man dedicates to the LORD part of a field of his possession, then your valuation shall be according to the seed for it. A homer of barley seed shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver. 17.   ‘If he dedicates his field from the Year of Jubilee, according to your valuation it shall stand. 18.   ‘But if he dedicates his field after the Jubilee, then the priest shall reckon to him the money due according to the years that remain till the Year of Jubilee, and it shall be deducted from your valuation. 19.   ‘And if he who dedicates the field ever wishes to redeem it, then he must add one–fifth of the money of your valuation to it, and it shall belong to him. 20.   ‘But if he does not want to redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed anymore; 21.   ‘but the field, when it is released in the Jubilee, shall be holy to the LORD, as a devoted field; it shall be the possession of the priest. 22.   ‘And if a man dedicates to the LORD a field which he has bought, which is not the field of his possession, 23.   ‘then the priest shall reckon to him the worth of your valuation, up to the Year of Jubilee, and he shall give your valuation on that day as a holy offering to the LORD. 24.   ‘In the Year of Jubilee the field shall return to him from whom it was bought, to the one who owned the land as a possession. 25.   ‘And all your valuations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs to the shekel. 26.   ‘But the firstborn of the animals, which should be the LORD’S firstborn, no man shall dedicate; whether it is an ox or sheep, it is the LORD’S. 27.   ‘And if it is an unclean animal, then he shall redeem it according to your valuation, and shall add one–fifth to it; or if it is not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your valuation. 28.   ‘Nevertheless no devoted offering that a man may devote to the LORD of all that he has, both man and beast, or the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed; every devoted offering is most holy to the LORD. 29.   ‘No person under the ban, who may become doomed to destruction among men, shall be redeemed, but shall surely be put to death. 30.   ‘And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’S. It is holy to the LORD. 31.   ‘If a man wants at all to redeem any of his tithes, he shall add one–fifth to it. 32.   ‘And concerning the tithe of the herd or the flock, of whatever passes under the rod, the tenth one shall be holy to the LORD. 33.   ‘He shall not inquire whether it is good or bad, nor shall he exchange it; and if he exchanges it at all, then both it and the one exchanged for it shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.’" 34.   These are the commandments which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel on Mount Sinai.

1.   Oh, give thanks to the LORD! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! 2.   Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works! 3.   Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the LORD! 4.   Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore! 5.   Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth, 6.   O seed of Abraham His servant, You children of Jacob, His chosen ones! 7.   He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth. 8.   He remembers His covenant forever, The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations, 9.   The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac, 10.   And confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant, 11.   Saying, "To you I will give the land of Canaan As the allotment of your inheritance," 12.   When they were few in number, Indeed very few, and strangers in it. 13.   When they went from one nation to another, From one kingdom to another people, 14.   He permitted no one to do them wrong; Yes, He rebuked kings for their sakes, 15.   Saying , "Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm." 16.   Moreover He called for a famine in the land; He destroyed all the provision of bread. 17.   He sent a man before them––Joseph–– who was sold as a slave. 18.   They hurt his feet with fetters, He was laid in irons. 19.   Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the LORD tested him. 20.   The king sent and released him, The ruler of the people let him go free. 21.   He made him lord of his house, And ruler of all his possessions, 22.   To bind his princes at his pleasure, And teach his elders wisdom. 23.   Israel also came into Egypt, And Jacob dwelt in the land of Ham. 24.   He increased His people greatly, And made them stronger than their enemies. 25.   He turned their heart to hate His people, To deal craftily with His servants. 26.   He sent Moses His servant, And Aaron whom He had chosen. 27.   They performed His signs among them, And wonders in the land of Ham. 28.   He sent darkness, and made it dark; And they did not rebel against His word. 29.   He turned their waters into blood, And killed their fish. 30.   Their land abounded with frogs, Even in the chambers of their kings. 31.   He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, And lice in all their territory. 32.   He gave them hail for rain, And flaming fire in their land. 33.   He struck their vines also, and their fig trees, And splintered the trees of their territory. 34.   He spoke, and locusts came, Young locusts without number, 35.   And ate up all the vegetation in their land, And devoured the fruit of their ground. 36.   He also destroyed all the firstborn in their land, The first of all their strength. 37.   He also brought them out with silver and gold, And there was none feeble among His tribes. 38.   Egypt was glad when they departed, For the fear of them had fallen upon them. 39.   He spread a cloud for a covering, And fire to give light in the night. 40.   The people asked, and He brought quail, And satisfied them with the bread of heaven. 41.   He opened the rock, and water gushed out; It ran in the dry places like a river. 42.   For He remembered His holy promise, And Abraham His servant. 43.   He brought out His people with joy, His chosen ones with gladness. 44.   He gave them the lands of the Gentiles, And they inherited the labor of the nations, 45.   That they might observe His statutes And keep His laws. Praise the LORD!

1.   Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. 2.   For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3.   For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4.   For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. 5.   For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, "The man who does those things shall live by them." 6.   But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, "Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’" (that is, to bring Christ down from above ) 7.   or, "‘Who will descend into the abyss?’" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8.   But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9.   that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10.   For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11.   For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." 12.   For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13.   For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved." 14.   How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15.   And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!" 16.   But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?" 17.   So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 18.   But I say, have they not heard? Yes indeed: "Their sound has gone out to all the earth, And their words to the ends of the world." 19.   But I say, did Israel not know? First Moses says: "I will provoke you to jealousy by those who are not a nation, I will move you to anger by a foolish nation." 20.   But Isaiah is very bold and says: "I was found by those who did not seek Me; I was made manifest to those who did not ask for Me." 21.   But to Israel he says: "All day long I have stretched out My hands To a disobedient and contrary people."
