IM 20

1.   Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2.   "Again, you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘Whoever of the children of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell in Israel, who gives any of his descendants to Molech, he shall surely be put to death. The people of the land shall stone him with stones. 3.   ‘I will set My face against that man, and will cut him off from his people, because he has given some of his descendants to Molech, to defile My sanctuary and profane My holy name. 4.   ‘And if the people of the land should in any way hide their eyes from the man, when he gives some of his descendants to Molech, and they do not kill him, 5.   ‘then I will set My face against that man and against his family; and I will cut him off from his people, and all who prostitute themselves with him to commit harlotry with Molech. 6.   ‘And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people. 7.   ‘Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am the LORD your God. 8.   ‘And you shall keep My statutes, and perform them: I am the LORD who sanctifies you. 9.   ‘For everyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother. His blood shall be upon him. 10.   ‘The man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, he who commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress, shall surely be put to death. 11.   ‘The man who lies with his father’s wife has uncovered his father’s nakedness; both of them shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. 12.   ‘If a man lies with his daughter–in–law, both of them shall surely be put to death. They have committed perversion. Their blood shall be upon them. 13.   ‘If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. 14.   ‘If a man marries a woman and her mother, it is wickedness. They shall be burned with fire, both he and they, that there may be no wickedness among you. 15.   ‘If a man mates with an animal, he shall surely be put to death, and you shall kill the animal. 16.   ‘If a woman approaches any animal and mates with it, you shall kill the woman and the animal. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood is upon them. 17.   ‘If a man takes his sister, his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter, and sees her nakedness and she sees his nakedness, it is a wicked thing. And they shall be cut off in the sight of their people. He has uncovered his sister’s nakedness. He shall bear his guilt. 18.   ‘If a man lies with a woman during her sickness and uncovers her nakedness, he has exposed her flow, and she has uncovered the flow of her blood. Both of them shall be cut off from their people. 19.   ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister nor of your father’s sister, for that would uncover his near of kin. They shall bear their guilt. 20.   ‘If a man lies with his uncle’s wife, he has uncovered his uncle’s nakedness. They shall bear their sin; they shall die childless. 21.   ‘If a man takes his brother’s wife, it is an unclean thing. He has uncovered his brother’s nakedness. They shall be childless. 22.   ‘You shall therefore keep all My statutes and all My judgments, and perform them, that the land where I am bringing you to dwell may not vomit you out. 23.   ‘And you shall not walk in the statutes of the nation which I am casting out before you; for they commit all these things, and therefore I abhor them. 24.   ‘But I have said to you, "You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey." I am the LORD your God, who has separated you from the peoples. 25.   ‘You shall therefore distinguish between clean animals and unclean, between unclean birds and clean, and you shall not make yourselves abominable by beast or by bird, or by any kind of living thing that creeps on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean. 26.   ‘And you shall be holy to Me, for I the LORD am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be Mine. 27.   ‘A man or a woman who is a medium, or who has familiar spirits, shall surely be put to death; they shall stone them with stones. Their blood shall be upon them.’"

1.   <> I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations. 0.   2For I have said, "Mercy shall be built up forever; Your faithfulness You shall establish in the very heavens." 3.   "I have made a covenant with My chosen, I have sworn to My servant David: 4.   ‘Your seed I will establish forever, And build up your throne to all generations.’" Selah 5.   And the heavens will praise Your wonders, O LORD; Your faithfulness also in the assembly of the saints. 6.   For who in the heavens can be compared to the LORD? Who among the sons of the mighty can be likened to the LORD? 7.   God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, And to be held in reverence by all those around Him. 8.   O LORD God of hosts, Who is mighty like You, O LORD? Your faithfulness also surrounds You. 9.   You rule the raging of the sea; When its waves rise, You still them. 10.   You have broken Rahab in pieces, as one who is slain; You have scattered Your enemies with Your mighty arm. 11.   The heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; The world and all its fullness, You have founded them. 12.   The north and the south, You have created them; Tabor and Hermon rejoice in Your name. 13.   You have a mighty arm; Strong is Your hand, and high is Your right hand. 14.   Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face. 15.   Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O LORD, in the light of Your countenance. 16.   In Your name they rejoice all day long, And in Your righteousness they are exalted. 17.   For You are the glory of their strength, And in Your favor our horn is exalted. 18.   For our shield belongs to the LORD, And our king to the Holy One of Israel. 19.   Then You spoke in a vision to Your holy one, And said: "I have given help to one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from the people. 20.   I have found My servant David; With My holy oil I have anointed him, 21.   With whom My hand shall be established; Also My arm shall strengthen him. 22.   The enemy shall not outwit him, Nor the son of wickedness afflict him. 23.   I will beat down his foes before his face, And plague those who hate him. 24.   "But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him, And in My name his horn shall be exalted. 25.   Also I will set his hand over the sea, And his right hand over the rivers. 26.   He shall cry to Me, ‘You are my Father, My God, and the rock of my salvation.’ 27.   Also I will make him My firstborn, The highest of the kings of the earth. 28.   My mercy I will keep for him forever, And My covenant shall stand firm with him. 29.   His seed also I will make to endure forever, And his throne as the days of heaven. 30.   "If his sons forsake My law And do not walk in My judgments, 31.   If they break My statutes And do not keep My commandments, 32.   Then I will punish their transgression with the rod, And their iniquity with stripes. 33.   Nevertheless My lovingkindness I will not utterly take from him, Nor allow My faithfulness to fail. 34.   My covenant I will not break, Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips. 35.   Once I have sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David: 36.   His seed shall endure forever, And his throne as the sun before Me; 37.   It shall be established forever like the moon, Even like the faithful witness in the sky." Selah 38.   But You have cast off and abhorred, You have been furious with Your anointed. 39.   You have renounced the covenant of Your servant; You have profaned his crown by casting it to the ground. 40.   You have broken down all his hedges; You have brought his strongholds to ruin. 41.   All who pass by the way plunder him; He is a reproach to his neighbors. 42.   You have exalted the right hand of his adversaries; You have made all his enemies rejoice. 43.   You have also turned back the edge of his sword, And have not sustained him in the battle. 44.   You have made his glory cease, And cast his throne down to the ground. 45.   The days of his youth You have shortened; You have covered him with shame. Selah 46.   How long, LORD? Will You hide Yourself forever? Will Your wrath burn like fire? 47.   Remember how short my time is; For what futility have You created all the children of men? 48.   What man can live and not see death? Can he deliver his life from the power of the grave? Selah 49.   Lord, where are Your former lovingkindnesses, Which You swore to David in Your truth? 50.   Remember, Lord, the reproach of Your servants–– How I bear in my bosom the reproach of all the many peoples, 51.   With which Your enemies have reproached, O LORD, With which they have reproached the footsteps of Your anointed. 52.   Blessed be the LORD forevermore! Amen and Amen.

1.   What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh? 2.   For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3.   For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." 4.   Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. 5.   But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, 6.   just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works: 7.   "Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered; 8.   Blessed is the man to whom the LORD shall not impute sin." 9.   Does this blessedness then come upon the circumcised only , or upon the uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness. 10.   How then was it accounted? While he was circumcised, or uncircumcised? Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised. 11.   And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness might be imputed to them also, 12.   and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of the faith which our father Abraham had while still uncircumcised. 13.   For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. 14.   For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect, 15.   because the law brings about wrath; for where there is no law there is no transgression. 16.   Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all 17.   (as it is written, "I have made you a father of many nations") in the presence of Him whom he believed––God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; 18.   who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, "So shall your descendants be." 19.   And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20.   He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21.   and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22.   And therefore "it was accounted to him for righteousness." 23.   Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him, 24.   but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, 25.   who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.
