King James Version

1TAW 13-14
HOS 5:1-7:2
YOH 14

1TAW 13

1.   Then David consulted with the captains of thousands and hundreds, and with every leader. 2.   And David said to all the assembly of Israel, "If it seems good to you, and if it is of the LORD our God, let us send out to our brethren everywhere who are left in all the land of Israel, and with them to the priests and Levites who are in their cities and their common–lands, that they may gather together to us; 3.   "and let us bring the ark of our God back to us, for we have not inquired at it since the days of Saul." 4.   Then all the assembly said that they would do so, for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people. 5.   So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor in Egypt to as far as the entrance of Hamath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjath Jearim. 6.   And David and all Israel went up to Baalah, to Kirjath Jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up from there the ark of God the LORD, who dwells between the cherubim, where His name is proclaimed. 7.   So they carried the ark of God on a new cart from the house of Abinadab, and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart. 8.   Then David and all Israel played music before God with all their might, with singing, on harps, on stringed instruments, on tambourines, on cymbals, and with trumpets. 9.   And when they came to Chidon’s threshing floor, Uzza put out his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen stumbled. 10.   Then the anger of the LORD was aroused against Uzza, and He struck him because he put his hand to the ark; and he died there before God. 11.   And David became angry because of the LORD’S outbreak against Uzza; therefore that place is called Perez Uzza to this day. 12.   David was afraid of God that day, saying, "How can I bring the ark of God to me?" 13.   So David would not move the ark with him into the City of David, but took it aside into the house of Obed–Edom the Gittite. 14.   The ark of God remained with the family of Obed–Edom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obed–Edom and all that he had.

1TAW 14

1.   Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, with masons and carpenters, to build him a house. 2.   So David knew that the LORD had established him as king over Israel, for his kingdom was highly exalted for the sake of His people Israel. 3.   Then David took more wives in Jerusalem, and David begot more sons and daughters. 4.   And these are the names of his children whom he had in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon, 5.   Ibhar, Elishua, Elpelet, 6.   Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia, 7.   Elishama, Beeliada, and Eliphelet. 8.   Now when the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to search for David. And David heard of it and went out against them. 9.   Then the Philistines went and made a raid on the Valley of Rephaim. 10.   And David inquired of God, saying, "Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?" And the LORD said to him, "Go up, for I will deliver them into your hand." 11.   So they went up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. Then David said, "God has broken through my enemies by my hand like a breakthrough of water." Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim. 12.   And when they left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire. 13.   Then the Philistines once again made a raid on the valley. 14.   Therefore David inquired again of God, and God said to him, "You shall not go up after them; circle around them, and come upon them in front of the mulberry trees. 15.   "And it shall be, when you hear a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall go out to battle, for God has gone out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines." 16.   So David did as God commanded him, and they drove back the army of the Philistines from Gibeon as far as Gezer. 17.   Then the fame of David went out into all lands, and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations.

HOS 5 1-15

1.   "Hear this, O priests! Take heed, O house of Israel! Give ear, O house of the king! For yours is the judgment, Because you have been a snare to Mizpah And a net spread on Tabor. 2.   The revolters are deeply involved in slaughter, Though I rebuke them all. 3.   I know Ephraim, And Israel is not hidden from Me; For now, O Ephraim, you commit harlotry; Israel is defiled. 4.   "They do not direct their deeds Toward turning to their God, For the spirit of harlotry is in their midst, And they do not know the LORD. 5.   The pride of Israel testifies to his face; Therefore Israel and Ephraim stumble in their iniquity; Judah also stumbles with them. 6.   "With their flocks and herds They shall go to seek the LORD, But they will not find Him ; He has withdrawn Himself from them. 7.   They have dealt treacherously with the LORD, For they have begotten pagan children. Now a New Moon shall devour them and their heritage. 8.   "Blow the ram’s horn in Gibeah, The trumpet in Ramah! Cry aloud at Beth Aven, ‘ Look behind you, O Benjamin!’ 9.   Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke; Among the tribes of Israel I make known what is sure. 10.   "The princes of Judah are like those who remove a landmark; I will pour out My wrath on them like water. 11.   Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, Because he willingly walked by human precept. 12.   Therefore I will be to Ephraim like a moth, And to the house of Judah like rottenness. 13.   "When Ephraim saw his sickness, And Judah saw his wound, Then Ephraim went to Assyria And sent to King Jareb; Yet he cannot cure you, Nor heal you of your wound. 14.   For I will be like a lion to Ephraim, And like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will tear them and go away; I will take them away, and no one shall rescue. 15.   I will return again to My place Till they acknowledge their offense. Then they will seek My face; In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me."

HOS 6 1-11

1.   Come, and let us return to the LORD; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. 2.   After two days He will revive us; On the third day He will raise us up, That we may live in His sight. 3.   Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth. 4.   "O Ephraim, what shall I do to you? O Judah, what shall I do to you? For your faithfulness is like a morning cloud, And like the early dew it goes away. 5.   Therefore I have hewn them by the prophets, I have slain them by the words of My mouth; And your judgments are like light that goes forth. 6.   For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. 7.   "But like men they transgressed the covenant; There they dealt treacherously with Me. 8.   Gilead is a city of evildoers, And defiled with blood. 9.   As bands of robbers lie in wait for a man, So the company of priests murder on the way to Shechem; Surely they commit lewdness. 10.   I have seen a horrible thing in the house of Israel: There is the harlotry of Ephraim; Israel is defiled. 11.   Also, O Judah, a harvest is appointed for you, When I return the captives of My people.

HOS 7 1-2

1.   "When I would have healed Israel, Then the iniquity of Ephraim was uncovered, And the wickedness of Samaria. For they have committed fraud; A thief comes in; A band of robbers takes spoil outside. 2.   They do not consider in their hearts That I remember all their wickedness; Now their own deeds have surrounded them; They are before My face.

YOH 14

1.   "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2.   "In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so , I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3.   "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4.   "And where I go you know, and the way you know." 5.   Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?" 6.   Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. 7.   "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him." 8.   Philip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us." 9.   Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10.   "Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority ; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. 11.   "Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves. 12.   "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13.   "And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14.   "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it . 15.   "If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16.   "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever–– 17.   "the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18.   "I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. 19.   "A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. 20.   "At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21.   "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." 22.   Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, "Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?" 23.   Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24.   "He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me. 25.   "These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. 26.   "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. 27.   "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. 28.   "You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I. 29.   "And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe. 30.   "I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me. 31.   "But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, so I do. Arise, let us go from here.
