YOH 16

1TAW 16 7-43

7.   On that day David first delivered this psalm into the hand of Asaph and his brethren, to thank the LORD: 8.   Oh, give thanks to the LORD! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! 9.   Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works! 10.   Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the LORD! 11.   Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore! 12.   Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth, 13.   O seed of Israel His servant, You children of Jacob, His chosen ones! 14.   He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth. 15.   Remember His covenant forever, The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations, 16.   The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac, 17.   And confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel for an everlasting covenant, 18.   Saying, "To you I will give the land of Canaan As the allotment of your inheritance," 19.   When you were few in number, Indeed very few, and strangers in it. 20.   When they went from one nation to another, And from one kingdom to another people, 21.   He permitted no man to do them wrong; Yes, He rebuked kings for their sakes, 22.   Saying , "Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm." 23.   Sing to the LORD, all the earth; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. 24.   Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples. 25.   For the LORD is great and greatly to be praised; He is also to be feared above all gods. 26.   For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the LORD made the heavens. 27.   Honor and majesty are before Him; Strength and gladness are in His place. 28.   Give to the LORD, O families of the peoples, Give to the LORD glory and strength. 29.   Give to the LORD the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come before Him. Oh, worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness! 30.   Tremble before Him, all the earth. The world also is firmly established, It shall not be moved. 31.   Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; And let them say among the nations, "The LORD reigns." 32.   Let the sea roar, and all its fullness; Let the field rejoice, and all that is in it. 33.   Then the trees of the woods shall rejoice before the LORD, For He is coming to judge the earth. 34.   Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 35.   And say, "Save us, O God of our salvation; Gather us together, and deliver us from the Gentiles, To give thanks to Your holy name, To triumph in Your praise." 36.   Blessed be the LORD God of Israel From everlasting to everlasting! And all the people said, "Amen!" and praised the LORD. 37.   So he left Asaph and his brothers there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD to minister before the ark regularly, as every day’s work required; 38.   and Obed–Edom with his sixty–eight brethren, including Obed–Edom the son of Jeduthun, and Hosah, to be gatekeepers; 39.   and Zadok the priest and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the LORD at the high place that was at Gibeon, 40.   to offer burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar of burnt offering regularly morning and evening, and to do according to all that is written in the Law of the LORD which He commanded Israel; 41.   and with them Heman and Jeduthun and the rest who were chosen, who were designated by name, to give thanks to the LORD, because His mercy endures forever; 42.   and with them Heman and Jeduthun, to sound aloud with trumpets and cymbals and the musical instruments of God. Now the sons of Jeduthun were gatekeepers. 43.   Then all the people departed, every man to his house; and David returned to bless his house.

HOS 9

1.   Do not rejoice, O Israel, with joy like other peoples, For you have played the harlot against your God. You have made love for hire on every threshing floor. 2.   The threshing floor and the winepress Shall not feed them, And the new wine shall fail in her. 3.   They shall not dwell in the LORD’S land, But Ephraim shall return to Egypt, And shall eat unclean things in Assyria. 4.   They shall not offer wine offerings to the LORD, Nor shall their sacrifices be pleasing to Him. It shall be like bread of mourners to them; All who eat it shall be defiled. For their bread shall be for their own life; It shall not come into the house of the LORD. 5.   What will you do in the appointed day, And in the day of the feast of the LORD? 6.   For indeed they are gone because of destruction. Egypt shall gather them up; Memphis shall bury them. Nettles shall possess their valuables of silver; Thorns shall be in their tents. 7.   The days of punishment have come; The days of recompense have come. Israel knows! The prophet is a fool, The spiritual man is insane, Because of the greatness of your iniquity and great enmity. 8.   The watchman of Ephraim is with my God; But the prophet is a fowler’s snare in all his ways––Enmity in the house of his God. 9.   They are deeply corrupted, As in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their iniquity; He will punish their sins. 10.   "I found Israel Like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers As the firstfruits on the fig tree in its first season. But they went to Baal Peor, And separated themselves to that shame; They became an abomination like the thing they loved. 11.   As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird––No birth, no pregnancy, and no conception! 12.   Though they bring up their children, Yet I will bereave them to the last man. Yes, woe to them when I depart from them! 13.   Just as I saw Ephraim like Tyre, planted in a pleasant place, So Ephraim will bring out his children to the murderer." 14.   Give them, O LORD––What will You give? Give them a miscarrying womb And dry breasts! 15.   "All their wickedness is in Gilgal, For there I hated them. Because of the evil of their deeds I will drive them from My house; I will love them no more. All their princes are rebellious. 16.   Ephraim is stricken, Their root is dried up; They shall bear no fruit. Yes, were they to bear children, I would kill the darlings of their womb." 17.   My God will cast them away, Because they did not obey Him; And they shall be wanderers among the nations.

YOH 16

1.   "These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble. 2.   "They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. 3.   "And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me. 4.   "But these things I have told you, that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you of them. And these things I did not say to you at the beginning, because I was with you. 5.   "But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ 6.   "But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. 7.   "Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8.   "And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9.   "of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10.   "of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11.   "of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. 12.   "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13.   "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority , but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14.   "He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15.   "All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you. 16.   "A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me, because I go to the Father." 17.   Then some of His disciples said among themselves, "What is this that He says to us, ‘A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me’; and, ‘because I go to the Father’?" 18.   They said therefore, "What is this that He says, ‘A little while’? We do not know what He is saying." 19.   Now Jesus knew that they desired to ask Him, and He said to them, "Are you inquiring among yourselves about what I said, ‘A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me’? 20.   "Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. 21.   "A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. 22.   "Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you. 23.   "And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. 24.   "Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. 25.   "These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father. 26.   "In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; 27.   "for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God. 28.   "I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father." 29.   His disciples said to Him, "See, now You are speaking plainly, and using no figure of speech! 30.   "Now we are sure that You know all things, and have no need that anyone should question You. By this we believe that You came forth from God." 31.   Jesus answered them, "Do you now believe? 32.   "Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. 33.   "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
