KID 3-4
MRK 4:21-41

UL 16 1-22

1.   "Observe the month of Abib, and keep the Passover to the LORD your God, for in the month of Abib the LORD your God brought you out of Egypt by night. 2.   "Therefore you shall sacrifice the Passover to the LORD your God, from the flock and the herd, in the place where the LORD chooses to put His name. 3.   "You shall eat no leavened bread with it; seven days you shall eat unleavened bread with it, that is , the bread of affliction (for you came out of the land of Egypt in haste), that you may remember the day in which you came out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life. 4.   "And no leaven shall be seen among you in all your territory for seven days, nor shall any of the meat which you sacrifice the first day at twilight remain overnight until morning. 5.   "You may not sacrifice the Passover within any of your gates which the LORD your God gives you; 6.   "but at the place where the LORD your God chooses to make His name abide, there you shall sacrifice the Passover at twilight, at the going down of the sun, at the time you came out of Egypt. 7.   "And you shall roast and eat it in the place which the LORD your God chooses, and in the morning you shall turn and go to your tents. 8.   "Six days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be a sacred assembly to the LORD your God. You shall do no work on it . 9.   "You shall count seven weeks for yourself; begin to count the seven weeks from the time you begin to put the sickle to the grain. 10.   "Then you shall keep the Feast of Weeks to the LORD your God with the tribute of a freewill offering from your hand, which you shall give as the LORD your God blesses you. 11.   "You shall rejoice before the LORD your God, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant, the Levite who is within your gates, the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are among you, at the place where the LORD your God chooses to make His name abide. 12.   "And you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and you shall be careful to observe these statutes. 13.   "You shall observe the Feast of Tabernacles seven days, when you have gathered from your threshing floor and from your winepress. 14.   "And you shall rejoice in your feast, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant and the Levite, the stranger and the fatherless and the widow, who are within your gates. 15.   "Seven days you shall keep a sacred feast to the LORD your God in the place which the LORD chooses, because the LORD your God will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, so that you surely rejoice. 16.   "Three times a year all your males shall appear before the LORD your God in the place which He chooses: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Tabernacles; and they shall not appear before the LORD empty–handed. 17.   "Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God which He has given you. 18.   "You shall appoint judges and officers in all your gates, which the LORD your God gives you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with just judgment. 19.   "You shall not pervert justice; you shall not show partiality, nor take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous. 20.   "You shall follow what is altogether just, that you may live and inherit the land which the LORD your God is giving you. 21.   "You shall not plant for yourself any tree, as a wooden image, near the altar which you build for yourself to the LORD your God. 22.   "You shall not set up a sacred pillar, which the LORD your God hates.

UL 17 1-1

1.   "You shall not sacrifice to the LORD your God a bull or sheep which has any blemish or defect, for that is an abomination to the LORD your God.

KID 3

1.   THE SHULAMITE By night on my bed I sought the one I love; I sought him, but I did not find him. 2.   "I will rise now," I said , "And go about the city; In the streets and in the squares I will seek the one I love." I sought him, but I did not find him. 3.   The watchmen who go about the city found me; I said , "Have you seen the one I love?" 4.   Scarcely had I passed by them, When I found the one I love. I held him and would not let him go, Until I had brought him to the house of my mother, And into the chamber of her who conceived me. 5.   I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, By the gazelles or by the does of the field, Do not stir up nor awaken love Until it pleases. 6.   THE SHULAMITE Who is this coming out of the wilderness Like pillars of smoke, Perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, With all the merchant’s fragrant powders? 7.   Behold, it is Solomon’s couch, With sixty valiant men around it, Of the valiant of Israel. 8.   They all hold swords, Being expert in war. Every man has his sword on his thigh Because of fear in the night. 9.   Of the wood of Lebanon Solomon the King Made himself a palanquin: 10.   He made its pillars of silver, Its support of gold, Its seat of purple, Its interior paved with love By the daughters of Jerusalem. 11.   Go forth, O daughters of Zion, And see King Solomon with the crown With which his mother crowned him On the day of his wedding, The day of the gladness of his heart.

KID 4

1.   THE BELOVED Behold, you are fair, my love! Behold, you are fair! You have dove’s eyes behind your veil. Your hair is like a flock of goats, Going down from Mount Gilead. 2.   Your teeth are like a flock of shorn sheep Which have come up from the washing, Every one of which bears twins, And none is barren among them. 3.   Your lips are like a strand of scarlet, And your mouth is lovely. Your temples behind your veil Are like a piece of pomegranate. 4.   Your neck is like the tower of David, Built for an armory, On which hang a thousand bucklers, All shields of mighty men. 5.   Your two breasts are like two fawns, Twins of a gazelle, Which feed among the lilies. 6.   Until the day breaks And the shadows flee away, I will go my way to the mountain of myrrh And to the hill of frankincense. 7.   You are all fair, my love, And there is no spot in you. 8.   Come with me from Lebanon, my spouse, With me from Lebanon. Look from the top of Amana, From the top of Senir and Hermon, From the lions’ dens, From the mountains of the leopards. 9.   You have ravished my heart, My sister, my spouse; You have ravished my heart With one look of your eyes, With one link of your necklace. 10.   How fair is your love, My sister, my spouse! How much better than wine is your love, And the scent of your perfumes Than all spices! 11.   Your lips, O my spouse, Drip as the honeycomb; Honey and milk are under your tongue; And the fragrance of your garments Is like the fragrance of Lebanon. 12.   A garden enclosed Is my sister, my spouse, A spring shut up, A fountain sealed. 13.   Your plants are an orchard of pomegranates With pleasant fruits, Fragrant henna with spikenard, 14.   Spikenard and saffron, Calamus and cinnamon, With all trees of frankincense, Myrrh and aloes, With all the chief spices–– 15.   A fountain of gardens, A well of living waters, And streams from Lebanon. 16.   THE SHULAMITE Awake, O north wind , And come, O south! Blow upon my garden, That its spices may flow out. Let my beloved come to his garden And eat its pleasant fruits.

MRK 4 21-41

21.   Also He said to them, "Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand? 22.   "For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light. 23.   "If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear." 24.   Then He said to them, "Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given. 25.   "For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him." 26.   And He said, "The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, 27.   "and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. 28.   "For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. 29.   "But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come." 30.   Then He said, "To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what parable shall we picture it? 31.   " It is like a mustard seed which, when it is sown on the ground, is smaller than all the seeds on earth; 32.   "but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out large branches, so that the birds of the air may nest under its shade." 33.   And with many such parables He spoke the word to them as they were able to hear it . 34.   But without a parable He did not speak to them. And when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples. 35.   On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, "Let us cross over to the other side." 36.   Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. 37.   And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38.   But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?" 39.   Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40.   But He said to them, "Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?" 41.   And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, "Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!"
