RUT 3
YES 64
1TIM 3

RUT 3

1.   Then Naomi her mother–in–law said to her, "My daughter, shall I not seek security for you, that it may be well with you? 2.   "Now Boaz, whose young women you were with, is he not our relative? In fact, he is winnowing barley tonight at the threshing floor. 3.   "Therefore wash yourself and anoint yourself, put on your best garment and go down to the threshing floor; but do not make yourself known to the man until he has finished eating and drinking. 4.   "Then it shall be, when he lies down, that you shall notice the place where he lies; and you shall go in, uncover his feet, and lie down; and he will tell you what you should do." 5.   And she said to her, "All that you say to me I will do." 6.   So she went down to the threshing floor and did according to all that her mother–in–law instructed her. 7.   And after Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was cheerful, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of grain; and she came softly, uncovered his feet, and lay down. 8.   Now it happened at midnight that the man was startled, and turned himself; and there, a woman was lying at his feet. 9.   And he said, "Who are you?" So she answered, "I am Ruth, your maidservant. Take your maidservant under your wing, for you are a close relative." 10.   Then he said, "Blessed are you of the LORD, my daughter! For you have shown more kindness at the end than at the beginning, in that you did not go after young men, whether poor or rich. 11.   "And now, my daughter, do not fear. I will do for you all that you request, for all the people of my town know that you are a virtuous woman. 12.   "Now it is true that I am a close relative; however, there is a relative closer than I. 13.   "Stay this night, and in the morning it shall be that if he will perform the duty of a close relative for you––good; let him do it. But if he does not want to perform the duty for you, then I will perform the duty for you, as the LORD lives! Lie down until morning." 14.   So she lay at his feet until morning, and she arose before one could recognize another. Then he said, "Do not let it be known that the woman came to the threshing floor." 15.   Also he said, "Bring the shawl that is on you and hold it." And when she held it, he measured six ephahs of barley, and laid it on her. Then she went into the city. 16.   So when she came to her mother–in–law, she said, " Is that you, my daughter?" Then she told her all that the man had done for her. 17.   And she said, "These six ephahs of barley he gave me; for he said to me, ‘Do not go empty–handed to your mother–in–law.’" 18.   Then she said, "Sit still, my daughter, until you know how the matter will turn out; for the man will not rest until he has concluded the matter this day."

YES 64

1.   Oh, that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your presence–– 2.   As fire burns brushwood, As fire causes water to boil––To make Your name known to Your adversaries, That the nations may tremble at Your presence! 3.   When You did awesome things for which we did not look, You came down, The mountains shook at Your presence. 4.   For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, Nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one who waits for Him. 5.   You meet him who rejoices and does righteousness, Who remembers You in Your ways. You are indeed angry, for we have sinned––In these ways we continue; And we need to be saved. 6.   But we are all like an unclean thing , And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away. 7.   And there is no one who calls on Your name, Who stirs himself up to take hold of You; For You have hidden Your face from us, And have consumed us because of our iniquities. 8.   But now, O LORD, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand. 9.   Do not be furious, O LORD, Nor remember iniquity forever; Indeed, please look––we all are Your people! 10.   Your holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation. 11.   Our holy and beautiful temple, Where our fathers praised You, Is burned up with fire; And all our pleasant things are laid waste. 12.   Will You restrain Yourself because of these things , O LORD? Will You hold Your peace, and afflict us very severely?

1TIM 3

1.   This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. 2.   A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober–minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; 3.   not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; 4.   one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence 5.   (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 6.   not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. 7.   Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. 8.   Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double–tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money, 9.   holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience. 10.   But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being found blameless. 11.   Likewise their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things. 12.   Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. 13.   For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus. 14.   These things I write to you, though I hope to come to you shortly; 15.   but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. 16.   And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.
